proud parents... I enjoyed quite the busy day today. Macy had a Halloween Parade at school and needed to be costumed up first thing. She went in a hand-me-down Pocahontas costume and wore moccasins I made myself out of slippers and donned a headband complete with feathers. She even allowed me to place two little braids in the back of her head. She looked adorable. Mike met me at her school and we joined many other mommies and daddies in watching the parade. We videotaped and took pictures and thoroughly enjoyed our first public display of proud parenting. The most popular costume this year was, by far, Princesses for girls and Spidermen for boys. Macy was the only little indian, though.

After we walked back to her room and helped re-dress her in street clothes, Mike went back to work and I to a doctor appointment. I have gained five pounds since my last appointment and I was okay with that until I realized that it has only been two weeks! But otherwise, things are progressing nicely. My glucose and zinc tests came back fine.

I lunched alone at McAlisters and took the Suzuki in for its yearly inspection before settling in at Barnes and Nobel to catch up on my reading assignments. I happened to finish just in time to head out to pick up Macy and spend a whole 45 minutes with her before sending her down the street to the neighbors and I headed to class. Tonight's big debate - Corporal Punishment, good or bad.

It was kinda nice to have so much going on today, but I'm glad the day is done and I can rest now. Macy is sleeping and Mike is on his way home from Quitman where he had to go meet with some people about ambulance issues. I've bathed and am ready to crawl into bed and watch anything but the world series. Way to go Socks!!!

home... Last Wednesday morning we left for Atlanta. Mike had to attend a big EMS Conference and Macy and I tagged along. All flights went well except for the fact that I'm at a pretty uncomfortable pregnancy stage and, just like last time, my cyatic nerve is being pinched which means I walk funny and say "ouch" a lot. But it helps knowing it will go away... in about four months!!!

Atlanta was fun. I had been there once before, briefly, during a National Chorus tour. Geesh, that was like, 13 years ago!! Anyway, Wednesday night, after checking into the downtown Marriott, we went to The Underground and browsed and ate at Nick's. Thursday, we all walked to the convention center where Mike was scheduled to man the ETMC/Paramedics Plus booth all afternoon. We walked right by the Georgia Dome and the CNN building, as well as the Olympic Park and fountains. It would have been so much fun if I had only been wearing appropriate shoes...

That night we met up with some of Mike's associates from Oklahoma and Minnesota for dinner at the sports bar in the hotel. They were all pretty neat people and, despite Macy's brief little temper tantrum, (thank God we were in a loud and noisy atmosphere) we all enjoyed ourselves.

Friday we opted to take the shuttle bus down to the Convention Center. Macy and I spent more time there and swindled a lot of nice little hand outs from the vendors. And we had to make several stops by the booth with the St. Bernard mascot. His name was Isaac and I loved him and wanted to take him home. Macy, of course, loved him, too, and even though there were constant crowds around him, it never failed that he would walk right through them up to Macy when we strolled up. We brought home two little stuffed St. Bernards to remember him by.

Friday night we visited Stone Mountain. On my previous trip to Atlanta we had stayed there and I remember it being a place of great beauty so I suggested we go. It was as beautiful as I remember and we had a nice, relaxing time. We got there late and none of the attractions were open, but it was almost better being able to walk around with no crowds...

On the way back to our hotel, I suggested italian for dinner but, try as we might, we couldn't seem to find an italian restaurante anywhere. We did, however, find some seedier parts of Atlanta before arriving safely back at our hotel. Since it was pretty late, I suggested we simply order room service. Firstly, because I was hungry and tired and was having fantasies of eating dinner in bed in my pajamas, and secondly, because the the thought of the energy it would take to keep Macy in her high chair exhausted me. So room service it was and that ended up being a nice little time for the Miriovsky's.

Which brings me to this morning. Macy and I hung out at the hotel while Mike worked two hours at the convention and at noon we were off to the airport. Our flights home were uneventful and I've already showered and checked in on the unfortunate results of the Nebraska/K.State game... Off to my very own bed for me...

hello... Well, Mike made it home safely and we even got to spend last Friday night alone together while Macy was at the pep rally and football game with the Hootens'. It's been a hectic week since then and I can hardly believe how fast these weeks go by. I have been studying sporadically in preparation for my first midterm last night. I think I did okay but only time will tell. There were two essay questions that I'm pretty sure I bombed, but if I answered decently on the rest and nailed the majority of the multiple choice questions, I should come away with an A or B. I'll be okay with that.

Otherwise, besides a lot of drizzle and mist last weekend, the weather this week has been absolutely perfect with temperatures in the 70's and low 80's. It's so wonderful to be able to have the window's open. Macy and I have spent a lot of time outdoors here and at the park. Even I have been finding it hard to stay inside for too long. Yes, me!

But today I've found myself in a bit of a funk. No reason for it, just one of those days where I'd perfer to be alone. I just put Macy down for her nap so hopefully I can have a couple hours alone to pull myself out of it...

busy... In an effort to avoid missing Mike so much, I've been trying to keep my days busy.

Yesterday I took Macy to the Brookshire park in the morning and we played there for about two hours. We had lots of fun together on the merry-go-round and she enjoyed the toddler jungle gym and slides. We were joined later by a busload of kindergarteners from Grace showed up. A few of the outgoing and extraverted little guys joined us on the merry-go-round and even offered to push. I love talking to little kids. I learned that it was "C" week and they all thought that "C" was a pretty easy letter. We also learned from one little boy that his dad cusses a lot. He thinks probably the worst word he's heard is "heck!" Also, they used to have a little girl in their class named Macy but, alas; she moved to Florida.

Afterwards, we toured the museum, which is basically a glorified trophy room of Mr. Brookshire. I was quite impressed with all of the wildlife trophies inside. Some of them (the lion, the alligator and the polar bears) even scared Macy a little.

Later that day we went to a matinee of Shark Tale. Macy did okay but was distracted here and there throughout the movie. When she didn't feel like watching she played with the chair seat, sorted out popcorn, explored underneath the seats or checked out the kids in front of us.

Today she had school and later went to Dawn's while I went to class. They played in the back yard and got all dirty so I was thrilled to pick her up all bathed and ready for bed. Thanks, Dawn!!!

I've been keeping in touch with Mike, too. We talk every morning, afternoon and evening on the phone so that helps. His flight gets in tomorrow at 3:30. I'm excited to see him. And our favorite babysitter, Ashley, has asked to take Macy to a pep rally and football game tomorrow and will pick her up at 1:30. She also offered to keep Macy tomorrow evening (for free!) so Mike and I could have a date. Of course, we took her up on that offer. I'm sure we'll have some things to catch up on...

missing... We all awoke at 5 a.m. this morning to drive Mikey to the airport. He made it safely to Grand Rapids, Michigan for some sort of training conference with a co-worker and won't return until Friday. I miss him alot, even though I was tired and busy all day.

After I got Macy off to school, I returned a movie to Blockbuster and stopped by Target to drop off photos and pick up some essentials like juice, milk and dog biscuits. Once home, I had good intentions of studying and working out, but I was just too tired and instead took a good long nap. Good thing, because after picking up Macy, I was on the go for the rest of the day. We played in the yard and later went down the street to sit with the 3 neighbor kids until their daddy got home. He was later than usual tonight and I didn't leave til 6 which gave me little time to pack up Macy's things and drop her off at the Schwartz's so I could make my 7:00 class. And just as I took my seat, I noticed the headache. Needless to say, class seemed endless and I'm so glad to be home, showered and ready for bed, even though it'll be lonely...
